As far back as I can remember, I have been making things - drawings, paintings, collections, constructions, installations, books, prints, fibre pieces, sculptures, poems, stories, all kinds of things. . . . .. This passion has continued throughout my life.
Flowers have been another lifelong passion for me. I call them "food for the soul", for I cannot imagine living without them. I am intrigued with their symbolism and metaphorical properties as well as their beauty. At times over the years, flowers in various forms and contexts have informed my images and writing.
Family, friends, dreams, the seasons, nature, the landscape, all aspects of the world around us, are exceedingly important. They colour my work in so many ways that I'm probably not aware of them all. And speaking of colour... it's so important, as is its absence.
